We have met with the team at People and Planet recently and are very impressed with 2 campaigns they are running at the moment.
In order to support their work we have made available our best selling Fairtrade trainer as a fund raiser for People and Planet.
All net proceeds from the sale of these trainers will be donated to People and Planet each month.
Here is what they have to say with links to the campaigns in more depth.
Buy Right campaign
Universities spend £8 billion a year on the things that students use day-to-day. Much of this money goes to big companies with appalling records of human rights abuses in their supply chains.
Students around the UK are now demanding that our universities take action. The Buy Right campaign defends human rights throughout university supply chains.

Our successes include forcing Fruit of the Loom to allow unions to organise in all their Honduran factories, and helping to push Nike into paying $1.5m legally mandated redundancy pay to a group of Honduran workers.
Wear Fair
Young people don’t want their schools and colleges to be full of clothes that make farmers in the global South suffer. UK schools and colleges buy millions of pounds worth of clothes every year. But usually these garments are not made with Fairtrade cotton, and may have been produced by children, or by women barely older than you, for as little as 5p per hour for 80 hours a week. Young people are calling for the education sector
to Wear Fair!
